Helping executives turn complex business data into actionable decisions.
Daimler Executive app
Role: UX Strategist/ UX Designer
Challenge: Design a mobile executive dashboard that consolidates data from multiple enterprise systems into a personalized, actionable experience for managers and executives.
Year: 2019
Enterprise reporting tools often prioritize data access over decision-making. Executives needed a faster way to understand organizational performance without navigating multiple systems and reports.
The goal was to create a mobile-first experience that transformed fragmented business data into clear, actionable insights executives could understand at a glance.
Situation:
Daimler executives relied on multiple disconnected systems to access performance metrics, operational updates, and organizational insights. Critical information was scattered across reports and internal tools, making it difficult to quickly assess business performance and prioritize actions.
Task:
Design a mobile-first executive dashboard that consolidates data from multiple enterprise systems into a personalized, actionable experience for managers and executives.
Action:
Action 1: Product Strategy & Stakeholder Alignment
Worked with stakeholders to identify executive needs, prioritize business capabilities, and define the initial product roadmap. Mapped services, reporting modules, and dashboard experiences to align user goals with organizational objectives.
Action 2: Information Architecture & Dashboard Framework
Defined a modular information architecture that organized KPIs, reports, alerts, and team metrics into a scalable framework.
Prioritized the most important information so executives could quickly assess business performance without navigating complex reporting systems.
Action 3: Dashboard & Data Visualization Design
Designed mobile dashboards focused on clarity, hierarchy, and rapid comprehension.
Created visualizations, KPI cards, performance summaries, and drill-down experiences that transformed complex organizational data into actionable insights.
Result:
Delivered a mobile executive dashboard concept that simplified access to business performance data and established a scalable framework for future enterprise reporting experiences.
The project demonstrated how complex organizational information could be transformed into a clear, mobile-first experience focused on speed, usability, and decision support.
Key outcomes included:
Consolidated multiple enterprise data sources into a unified dashboard experience.
Established a scalable card-based framework for future executive applications.
Improved visibility of key performance indicators and team metrics.
Reduced information overload through prioritization and personalization.
Created a foundation for future enterprise reporting experiences.
Reflection/ What I Learned
This project reinforced that enterprise UX is not about displaying more information. It is about helping people make better decisions faster. The challenge was identifying which information mattered most to each role and designing a flexible framework that could adapt to different users, priorities, and business contexts.
